Put on ice, transport immediately.

Critical Values

Low: <= 8.0 micromole/L;

High: >= 80 micromole/L

Causes for Rejection

Wrong container; hemolysis; not transported on ice;

specimen not received within one hour; improper labeling; insufficient quantity

Turn Around Time

Urgent/Emergent: 1 hr.
