The Materials Management Department is responsible for the overall
strategic direction, as well as the tactical execution of all aspects of
material management operations for Augusta University Medical Center. The Materials
Management Department is responsible for some of the major supply chain
activities within the institution.

The Materials Management Department is composed of the Asset Management / Property Control Department and the Supply Process Distribution Department and is directly responsible for the following activities:
Receiving of supplies and equipment.
Shipping of supplies and equipment.
Supply storage and inventory control.
Distribution of supplies (including the PAR level program) and equipment.
Monitoring of supply and service usage.
Code, disaster, and isolation cart inventory, replenishment, and distribution.
Movable patient equipment inventory, distribution and cleaning - to include rental specialty bed and surfaces.
Linen distribution - to include system owned scrub suit management.
Property disposal services.
Surplus equipment management.
Logistical support for relocations and large equipment installations and removals.
Vendor registration and check-in / out.
